Excitement is running high in San Diego as spring gives way to summer! Newsies, the electrifying explosion of high-energy song and dance from Disney, is part of the blockbuster 2015-2016 season of Broadway San Diego. Opening on May 31, 2016, Newsies takes over the San Diego Civic Theatre stage until June 5, 2016.
From its smash hit and acclaimed run on the Great White Way, Newsies hits the road for its National Tour! Best Choreography and Best Score winner in the 2012 Tony Awards, Newsies is the inspiring story of Jack and his fellow newspaper boys. Orphans and homeless, the newsboys live on their meager earnings from hawking newspapers. But when the New York publishing giants decide to increase their newspaper prices, the newsboys took courage to stand up and fight back. Inspired by true historical events, Newsies is filled with breathtaking numbers that are sure to take your breath away.
Support the newsboy strike as Newsies takes center stage at the San Diego Civic Theatre on May 31 and June 1 (Tuesday and Wednesday) at 7 PM, on June 2 to 3 (Thursday to Friday) at 7:30 PM, on June 4 (Saturday) at 2 PM and 7:30 PM, and on June 5 (Sunday) at 1 PM and 6 PM. The run time of Newsies is 145 minutes.
