Stop the presses! Newsies, the phenomenal Disney Broadway musical, is on the road and is slated to be part of the exciting 2014-2015 season of PNC Broadway Across America in Pittsburgh! Opening on November 25, 2014, Newsies has a limited eight-performance engagement at the Benedum Center until November 30.
Instead of just delivering the papers, the newsies of New York aimed to make the headlines. Inspired by the 1899 Newsboys Strike in New York City and the 1992 movie of the same name, Newsies tells the story of Jack Kelly and a group of newsies who fought for what is right and stood against the powers-that-be of New York. Newsies won the Tony Awards in Best Choreography for Christopher Gattelli and the Best Original Score for Alan Menken and Jack Feldman.
Newsies plays the Benedum Center at 7:30 PM on November 25 to 27 (Tuesday to Thursday), at 8 PM on November 28 (Friday), at 2 PM and 8 PM on November 29 (Saturday), and at 1 PM and 6:30 PM on November 30 (Sunday).
