Million Dollar Quartet Kansas City | Kauffman Center
“Blue Suede Shoes”, “Great Balls of Fire”, “Folsom Prison Blues”, “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On”, “That’s All Right”, “Who Do You Love?”, “Fever”, “I Walk the Line”, “Matchbox”, “Hound Dog”, “Sixteen Tons”…these are just some of the many hits that made the ‘50s and ‘60s the golden ages of rock n’ roll, and all these songs were first recorded during a historic jam session at the Sun Records studios on December 4, 1956 involving four would-be music superstars who back then, were simply striving to carve their names in show business – Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis. This is the story of the hit Broadway musical, “Million Dollar Quartet”.
Witness how these four rock n’ roll contemporaries became the “Million Dollar Quartet” for one night. Bask in the memories of those precious hits along with the stories of love, life, lies and glory that defined the musical careers of these four music icons. The production comes to the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts in Kansas City from March 20 to 25, 2012. The performance running time is 1 hours 40 minutes.
