Mamma Mia! Columbus | Palace Theatre

Mamma Mia! Columbus | Palace Theatre

What do you make of a bride, her mother and three of her mom’s ex-boyfriends all showing up to her wedding? Chaos. The kind of chaos that will make you say ‘Mamma Mia!’ in exasperation and exhilaration. This is the undeniably entertaining musical ‘Mamma Mia!’, a story celebrating family, friendships, love and laughter, while the chart topping hits of ABBA play in the background. Broadway’s “ultimate feel-good show” comes to Columbus, OH this fall via the Palace Theatre along West Broad Street, for a week-long engagement before the holidays, from December 13 to 18, 2011 only.

With Greece’s breathtaking Santorini island in view, Mamma Mia! unfolds as a heartwarming and funny tale between Donna and Sophie, a mother and her soon-to-be-wed daughter, whose bond is put to test when Sophie uncovers her mother’s intriguing past while playing detective in search for her real father. She unearths three names of men from her mother’s past, each with a different love story to share, a chapter in Donna’s life she would never dare revisit had she had it her way. All three men come to Greece for Sophie’s wedding, where tempers start to flare and chaos gradually ensue, all while songs like “Take a Chance on Me”, “Fernando”, “Dancing Queen” and many more tell each of the characters stories – past flames, present conundrums affecting love, lives and friendships, and the mystifying excitement of what the future holds.

Remember, this Broadway hit musical will only play in Columbus for a week, so line-up, be seated and brush up on your ABBA discography. Sing, dance and be touched with this sweet natured mother-daughter tale that is Mamma Mia!.
