Book of Mormon Detroit | The Fisher

Book of Mormon Detroit | The Fisher

The Tony Award winning musical Book of Mormon is headed to Detroit in the fall of 2016 for a two-week run at the Fisher from November 1 to 13, 2016.

Jon Stewart, host of The Daily Show describes Mormon as “so good, it makes me angry”. Indeed, the musical is one of – if not the best musical of 2011 after it bagged nine Tony Awards including Best Musical honors. From the witty creators of TV’s South Park and the Tony winning composer of the highly acclaimed musical Avenue Q comes the Book of Mormon, a musical parody that follows the hilarious adventures of two dim-witted Mormon boys out on a mission in a far-flung community in Uganda, whose beliefs, customs and traditions are worlds apart from what they know and are used to in their native Utah. It’s definitely a cultural and religious exchange that will set the audiences up for raucous laughter and entertainingly good show music all night long. The performance running time is 2 hours and 30 minutes with 1 intermission.
